NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Medical Letter announced that its continuing education program is now accredited by The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). The mission of The Medical Letter's Continuing Medical Education Program is to support the professional development of health care providers including physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants by providing independent, unbiased drug information and prescribing recommendations that are free of industry influence.
The Medical Letter CME exams are based on the content of The Medical Letter on Drugs and Therapeutics, its flagship publication that provides drug analysis and recommendations for healthcare professionals. The tests are available online, in print, and in The Medical Letter mobile app. Successful completion of the activity enables participants to earn up to 52 CME/CE credits per year.
The Medical Letter CME Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
"Having a Continuing Education program accepted by the AAPA will enable a larger segment of our readers to qualify for continuing education credits that are free of industry bias." said Jean-Marie Pflomm, Pharm.D., Editor in Chief of The Medical Letter.
The Medical Letter continuing education program has long been granted accreditation by the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Additional information about the program can be found on The Medical Letter’s website at www.medicalletter.org/cme-program.
