of the hip or spine, or T-scores between -1.0 and
-2.5 with a FRAX 10-year probability of ≥3% for hip
fracture or ≥20% for major osteoporotic fracture.

antibody that inhibits osteoclasts, about an
increased risk of severe hypocalcemia in patients
with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD;
eGFR <30 mL/min/1.73 m2), particularly those on
dialysis. FDA-approved indications for Prolia are
listed in Table 1.

Givinostat (Duvyzat – Italfarmaco), an oral histone
deacetylase inhibitor, has been approved by the FDA
for treatment of patients ≥6 years old with Duchenne
muscular dystrophy (DMD), regardless of the DMD-causing
mutation. It is the first nonsteroidal drug to be
approved for this indication. The oral corticosteroids
deflazacort (Emflaza) and vamorolone (Agamree)
are also approved for treatment of patients with all
genetic variants of DMD.
