Approval is limited to locally advanced or metastatic soft-tissue sarcomas that are not amenable to curative radiotherapy or surgery, and is contingent on verification of clinical benefit in a confirmatory phase 3 trial.

Dexrazoxane (ADR-529, ICRF-187 - Adria), a piperazine derivative of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), is now under investigation for prevention of this drug-induced cardiomyopathy.
