Topical minoxidil (Rogaine, and others), which is available over the counter, has been used for treatment of hair loss in men and women for more than 30 years. Recently published trials suggest that off-label use of a low dose of oral minoxidil may also be effective.

The FDA has approved a combination oral contraceptive containing the estrogen estetrol and the progestin drospirenone (Nextstellis – Mithra/Mayne). Atopic dermatitis (AD; also known as eczema) is frequently associated with other atopic disorders such as allergic rhinitis, asthma, and food allergy. It commonly presents in infancy and early childhood and has a relapsing course, often improving by adolescence, but sometimes persisting into (or first appearing in) adulthood or even old age.

The FDA has approved ibrexafungerp (Brexafemme – Scynexis), a first-in-class triterpenoid antifungal ("fungerp"), for oral treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis in postmenarchal females.

A selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) is generally used for initial treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). A serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI), bupropion (Wellbutrin SR, and others), and mirtazapine (Remeron, and others) are reasonable alternatives. Improvement in symptoms can occur within the first two weeks of treatment with these drugs, but a substantial benefit may not be achieved for 4-8 weeks.
