The FDA has approved the complement C5 inhibitor zilucoplan (Zilbrysq – UCB) for once-daily subcutaneous treatment of generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) in adults who are anti-acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibody-positive. Zilucoplan is the first complement inhibitor to be approved for treatment of myasthenia gravis that can be self-administered. The FDA has approved ranibizumab (Lucentis - Genentech) as an intravitreal injection for treatment of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Ranibizumab is a derivative of bevacizumab (Avastin), which is FDA-approved for intravenous treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer and nonsmall cell lung cancer, but has also been used off label for intravitreal treatment of neovascular AMD.

Quantiferon - TB Gold (Cellestis) is a T-cell interferon-gamma release assay approved by the FDA as an alternative to the tuberculin skin test for diagnosis of infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB).
