Olutasidenib (Rezlidhia – Rigel), an oral isocitrate dehydrogenase-1 (IDH1) inhibitor, has been approved by the FDA for treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in adults with a susceptible IDH1 mutation. The opioid agonist tramadol is now available in an oral solution (Qdolo – Athena Bioscience) for management of pain severe enough to require an opioid and for which alternative treatment options are inadequate. Tramadol has been available for years in immediate-release tablets and capsules, extended-release capsules (Ultram, and others), and in a fixed-dose combination tablet with acetaminophen (Ultracet, and generics).

The FDA has approved a higher-dose injectable formulation of the long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist semaglutide (Ozempic) for treatment of type 2 diabetes in adults. A single SC injection of the new 8 mg/3 mL formulation delivers 2 mg of semaglutide.
