The oral gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor antagonist relugolix (Orgovyx – Myovant Sciences/Pfizer) has been approved by the FDA for treatment of advanced prostate cancer in adults. It is the first oral GnRH receptor antagonist to become available in the US; degarelix (Firmagon), an injectable GnRH receptor antagonist, has been available since 2008 for the same indication.

Belzutifan (Welireg – Merck), a first-in-class hypoxia-inducible factor inhibitor, has been approved by the FDA for treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in adults who received prior treatment with a programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1) or programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitor and a vascular endothelial growth factor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (VEGF-TKI). Belzutifan was previously approved for use in patients with von Hippel-Lindau disease.

Lazertinib (Lazcluze – Janssen Biotech), an oral kinase inhibitor, has been approved by the FDA for use in combination with the EGFR-MET bispecific antibody amivantamab (Rybrevant) for first-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in adults with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 19 deletions or exon 21 L858R substitution mutations. The FDA has authorized use of the Valeda Light Delivery System (LumiThera), a multiwavelength photobiomodulation (PBM) device, to improve visual acuity in patients with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) who have best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of 20/32 to 20/70.

Revumenib (Revuforj – Syndax), an oral menin inhibitor, has been approved by the FDA for treatment of relapsed or refractory acute leukemia in patients ≥1 year old with a lysine methyltransferase 2A gene (KMT2A) translocation. It is the first menin inhibitor to be approved in the US.

The FDA has approved ensartinib (Ensacove – Xcovery), an oral kinase inhibitor, for treatment of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive, locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in adults who have not previously received an ALK inhibitor (e.g, crizotinib [Xalkori], certinib [Zykadia], alectinib [Alecensa], brigatinib [Alunbrig], lorlatinib [Lorbrena]). Teprotumumab-trbw (Tepezza - Horizon), an insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) inhibitor, has been approved by the FDA for IV treatment of thyroid eye disease. It is the first drug to be approved in the US for this indication.

The FDA has approved Twyneo (Galderma), a cream containing the retinoid tretinoin and the oxidizing agent benzoyl peroxide, for once-daily topical treatment of acne in patients ≥9 years old.
