The FDA has approved the complement factor B
inhibitor iptacopan (Fabhalta – Novartis) for
treatment of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria
(PNH) in adults. Iptacopan is the first oral drug to
be approved in the US for this indication. Three
parenterally administered drugs, the complement
C5 inhibitors eculizumab (Soliris) and ravulizumab
(Ultomiris) and the complement C3 inhibitor
pegcetacoplan (Empaveli), are also approved for
treatment of PNH.

the prostacyclin analog treprostinil, has been approved
by the FDA to improve exercise ability in adults with
pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1)
or pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial
lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3). Tyvaso DPI,
another treprostinil dry powder inhaler, was approved
earlier for the same indication.

(SCLC) in adults with disease progression on or after
platinum-based chemotherapy. Accelerated approval
was based on the overall response rate and duration
of response. About 13-15% of lung cancers are small-cell

the Jynneos vaccine. The recommendation follows
reports of a recent cluster of mpox cases in the US
and warnings about the risk of a renewed outbreak
