Prademagene zamikeracel (Zevaskyn – Abeona Therapeutics), an autologous cell sheet-based gene therapy, has been approved by the FDA for treatment of wounds in patients with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. It is the first autologous cell sheet-based gene therapy to be approved in the US for this indication. Beremagene geperpavek gel (Vyjuvek), a herpes simplex virus type 1 vector-based gene therapy, is approved for once-weekly use in patients ≥6 months old with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa.

The RAS GTPase family inhibitor adagrasib (Krazati – BMS), which received accelerated approval for treatment of KRAS G12C (glycine-to-cysteine mutation at codon 12)-mutated locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in 2022, has now received accelerated approval from the FDA for use with cetuximab for treatment of KRAS G12C-mutated locally advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) in adults who received prior fluoropyrimidine-, oxaliplatin-, and irinotecan-based chemotherapy. Ashwagandha is an herb extracted from the roots of an evergreen shrub (Withania somnifera) found in India that has been used as a "tonic" for centuries. No specific constituent has been identified as an active ingredient. Herbal supplements containing ashwagandha, which is also known as winter cherry and Indian ginseng, are widely promoted now in the US for treatment of pain, anxiety, stress, fatigue, sleep disturbances, cognitive decline, diabetes, arthritis, male infertility, and various cancers.

The FDA has issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA-based vaccine for prevention of COVID-19 in persons ≥16 years old.

The FDA has expanded its Emergency Use Authorization for the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by Pfizer/BioNTech (Comirnaty) to include administration of a booster dose in children 5-11 years old who completed a primary series of the Pfizer vaccine ≥5 months previously.

The FDA has approved a 2% cream formulation of delgocitinib (Anzupgo – Leo), a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor, for treatment of moderate to severe chronic hand eczema (dermatitis) in adults who had an inadequate response to or are unable to use topical corticosteroids. Delgocitinib is the first drug to be approved in the US for this indication. Ruxolitinib, another JAK inhibitor, is available in a 1.5% cream formulation (Opzelura) for treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis in patients ≥2 years old.

Fezolinetant (Veozah – Astellas), a first-in-class neurokinin 3 (NK3) receptor antagonist, has been approved by the FDA for treatment of moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms (VMS) due to menopause. It is the second nonhormonal treatment to be approved in the US for this indication; a low-dose formulation of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) paroxetine mesylate (Brisdelle) was approved in 2013.
