Opill is the first oral contraceptive to be approved in the US for sale without a prescription. It is the first product containing benzoyl peroxide to be approved in the US for treatment of rosacea. Benzoyl peroxide formulations approved for acne have been used off-label to treat rosacea for years, but itching and burning have limited their use.

Fitusiran (Qfitlia – Sanofi), a subcutaneously injected, antithrombin-directed, small interfering ribonucleic acid (siRNA), has been approved by the FDA for routine prophylaxis to prevent or reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes in patients ≥12 years old who have hemophilia A with or without factor VIII inhibitors or hemophilia B with or without factor IX inhibitors. It is the first antithrombin-lowering therapy to become available in the US for treatment of hemophilia.

The FDA has required a new warning in the labels of the recombinant respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccines Arexvy (GSK) and Abrysvo (Pfizer) about an increased risk of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) within 42 days of administration of either vaccine. Both vaccines are FDA-approved to prevent lower respiratory tract disease (LRTD) caused by RSV in adults.Abrysvo is also approved for use in pregnant women at 32-36 weeks' gestation to prevent RSV-associated LRTD in their infants from birth through 6 months of age.
